How To Get To The Daintree EcoLodge

Getting There

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our rainforest escape in the Daintree Rainforest. To help you get here we have compiled some directions as well some nice stops along the way.

We strongly recommend hiring your own car and self driving, complimentary parking is available at the property.

Driving from Cairns will take approximately 90 minutes.

From Cairns airport take the Captain Cook Highway, turn right (north), following signs to Port Douglas and Mossman. Follow this road all the way to Daintree Edcolodge, if you reach Daintree Village you’ve gone a little bit too far. We are 3.5kms from the Daintree village centre.

Get there in 3 simple steps:

  1. Follow the Captain Cook Highway North from Cairns, approximately 90 mins
  2. Approximately 30 minutes from Mossman
  3. 5km before Daintree Village

Do not turn off the highway. Do not cross the river.

What you will see along the way…

  1. You will pass through a number of roundabouts which are access points for Cairns’ Northern beaches.
  2. Once past Palm Cove, the drive becomes very scenic with the coastal drive stretching almost to Port Douglas.
  3. Rex Lookout is a safe place to stop and great place to stretch the legs and look out over the coastal range.
  4. The drive from the airport to the Port Douglas turn-off takes approximately one hour.
  5. Continue along the highway past Port Douglas and you will pass through the town of Mossman. Mossman Gorge is a beautiful National Park with walking trails and swimming, free of crocs.
  6. The turn-off to Mossman Gorge is on the left as you enter the main part of this small town, just after the Woolworths supermarket.
  7. To continue to the Ecolodge, drive straight through the main street of Mossman and continue North for another 30 minutes.
  8. After passign the turn-offs to Newell Beach and Wonga Beach, pass the turn-off to Cape Tribulation Ferry Crossing, continue along the highway, past the Daintree River Ferry and follow the sign to Daintree Village.
  9. There is a sign on the right of the road 200m before the lodge entrance, the driveway is on the left hand side of the road.
