Journey deep within the magnificent Daintree Rainforest and experience a soul-enriching four night wellness retreat in 2022. Be nurtured in nature with daily yoga, meditation and breathwork to promote serenity, clarity, and health. Guests will be encouraged to set their own personal intentions, working towards these at their own pace alongside other guests and in the company of retreat host, Emily Spurling of Karma Being. These retreats offer the perfect balance of relaxation and exploration, with many opportunities on offer to take in the diversity and culture of the ancient surroundings. The region’s best produce and finest rainforest experiences have been curated to create an unforgettable and transformative adventure that you will never forget.
On Day One you’ll meet like-minded retreat goers in Cairns and begin the scenic journey north to the Daintree Ecolodge along one of Australia’s most spectacular coastal drives. Shortly after your arrival at the Daintree Ecolodge, spend the afternoon at leisure settling into your pure rainforest surrounds.
Before the day ends, you will be invited along to a welcoming circle and restorative yoga session to begin your soul-enriching journey followed by a delicious sustainable and locally-inspired 3 course dinner when dining with newfound friends at the onsite Julaymba Restaurant.
Each evening you will retire to your eco-awarded ‘bayan’ (treehouse) nestled in the heart of the oldest rainforest on the planet. Wake to the gentle sounds of nature from your unique and modern bayan designed to immerse you in the ancient emerald vines and sounds of the jungle whilst still enjoying your creature comforts.
Throughout the retreat you have the opportunity to experience unique yoga, meditation and breath work sessions designed for all ages and levels of ability with internationally-acclaimed Mind-Body Coach, Emily Spurling of Karma Being. You will be gifted with practical techniques to improve your health and quality of life that will easily and naturally become part of your wellbeing rituals for years to come.
On Day Two experience an intimate connection with the 180-million-year old rainforest during a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, which marks the official start of the retreat.
Following a delicious seasonal breakfast, immerse yourself in the ancient Indigenous culture of the Kuku Yalanji people during an exclusive Indigenous art class where Dreamtime stories and traditional methods will be shared.
Over lunch at the Julaymba Restaurant, Head Chef will talk you through the origin of some of the local produce and native bush tucker ingredients that the Daintree region is renowned for. On either Day Two, Day Three or Day Four be pampered during a 45 minute ‘Julma’ Massage which combines techniques from the East and West to revitalise, de-stress and release muscle tension.
Finish Day Two with a delicious 6 course degustation dinner, paired to fine Australian wines set in a breathtaking and pure rainforest environment before retreating to your bayan for a good night’s rest.
On Day Three, travel to the deserted tropical Wonga Beach and watch the sunrise over the crystal blue waters whilst holding your favourite yoga poses. Breakfast will be served back at the Daintree Ecolodge before various groups depart throughout the day on a leisurely stroll through the enchanting rainforest on ‘A Walk Through Time’ rainforest walk. The waterfall and swimming hole is sacred to the Kuku Yalanji women; for thousands of years they’ve bathed in its crystal-clear waters for healing and spiritual beliefs. Learn about the unique and amazing plants, insects, birds and other wildlife that surround us. Much of the wildlife you will see here cannot be found anywhere else in the world, with some species dating back 180 million years.
In the late afternoon you’ll have front row seats when the majestic Daintree River comes to life on a spectacular cruise. The Daintree River is home to an abundance of wildlife including a large population of crocodiles, a diverse array of birdlife, tree snakes, frogs and some impressive spiders, all seen from the safety of your boat.
Back at the lodge after a delicious 3 course dinner bursting with seasonal ingredients and flavours, your day concludes with a deeply restorative meditation called Yoga Nidra. This is a profoundly healing practice has been scientifically proven to alleviate anxiety and PTSD as well as promote deep sleep.
On Day Four you will wake for your morning yoga flow followed by breakfast and then a journey to a local water hole where you will experience a ceremonial release of everything that no longer serves you. This energetic clearing makes way for our blissful evening manifesting session, where you will be guided into a deep meditation that propels you to envision and create the life of your dreams. Enjoy the company of other guests with a picnic by the waterfall before having the afternoon to enjoy the lodge and its lush environment at your leisure.
Experience a cocktail making class with a native twist in the afternoon, where you are invited to learn the art of mixology and the provenance around the unique native ingredients featured. There are two cocktails for you to twist & shake (… and consume) together, before enjoying a joyful BBQ in the lodge’s tropical garden on your final evening together. Spend the last night together reflecting on a transformative few days, before surrendering to a final restful evening in the breathtaking rainforest.
